In 1956, Katie Thompson began selling shoes from her garage with no investors nor storefront. Within a few short years, that garage transformed into the very building where our store still stands today. Katies son William and his wife Rachel, not long after, joined Katie in growing the business.
Thompson’s Famous Name Brand Shoes is now in its third generation, led by Will Thompson. It’s a continuation of a family’s devotion providing top-tier brands that the Thompson family loves and believes in.
Almost 7 decades later and Thompson's is still standing and serving the community right where Katie left it. We are proud to continue the legacy of walking alongside every customer who chooses to take their next steps with Thompson's.

At Thompson’s Famous Name Brand Shoes, a third-generation family business serving Wellford for nearly 70 years, we are committed to quality footwear and personalized service. We strive to ensure every purchase fits your needs. The following policy outlines our return and exchange terms clearly and concisely.
ONLINE ORDERS
• Size Exchanges (within 5 business days of delivery): Shoes must be unworn, undamaged, and returned in original packaging. Email [email protected] with your order number and requested size. Customers are responsible for all shipping costs.
•Returns for Store Credit (within 5 business days of delivery): Unworn, undamaged shoes in original packaging may be returned for store credit only. Shipping charges are non-refundable. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. Store credit does not expire.
• Damaged or Defective Items: Notify us within 3 business days of delivery by emailing [email protected] with photos and a description. Approved claims will receive a replacement or refund. Claims submitted after 3 business days may not qualify.
IN-STORE PURCHASES
• All in-store sales are final unless the item is defective.
• Exchanges or store credit may be approved within 5 business days at management’s discretion with receipt and unworn merchandise.
